2.4L ECOTEC Engine

This 2.4L DOHC ECOTEC engine with Variable Timing produces 172 hp and 167 lb.-ft of torque. It also has an EPA estimated MPG 20 city, 28 highway with the standard manual transmission and an EPA estimated MPG 22 city, 28 highway when combined with the available automatic transmission. You'll also find low-maintenance features such as an aluminum block, a lightweight composite intake manifold and long-life coolant, designed to last for five years or 150,000 miles. Getrag Five-Speed Manual Transmission

The Getrag manual gearbox provides five synchronized forward gears and a synchronized reverse gear to help prevent grinding of the gears if reverse is engaged before the vehicle is at a complete stop. The gearbox also employs a hydraulic clutch, which is designed to be efficient and reliable.

StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System

StabiliTrak helps improve vehicle stability, particularly during emergency maneuvers. The StabiliTrak control module compares your steering input with the vehicles's actual response and then, if necessary, makes small, individual brake applications to enchance control and keep you on track.

Bright Chrome Exterior Appearance Package

The Bright Chrome Exterior Appearance Package provides a distinctive custom-shop look. It includes a bright-chrome grille, liftgate beauty bar, door handles and roof-mounted side-rails (when equipped).

Storage Bins

In addition to its fold-flat seating capability, HHR also contains three hidden rear cargo areas. One is located under the rear load floor. Two other cargo bins are located just behind the rear seats. The cargo floor can also be repositioned to double as an adjustable cargo shelf or tabletop for picnics or tailgate parties.

Cloth Seats
